View studies

Open the viewer

Go to https://<your-subdomain>.mypacs.co and sign in with your MyPACS account. You land on the study list: every study in your environment, newest first.

Find a study by typing in the search fields — patient name, patient ID, accession number, description, modality or study date. Click a row to open it.

Nothing needs installing. Use a current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari, on a machine with enough memory for the series you open.

In the viewer

The viewer is based on OHIF, a widely used open-source DICOM viewer.

  • Series in the study are listed down the side — click one to load it into the active pane.
  • Scroll through slices with the mouse wheel, the arrow keys, or by dragging.
  • Left-drag adjusts window/level; the toolbar also has preset windows for common studies such as lung, bone and brain.
  • Zoom, pan, rotate, flip and invert are in the toolbar.
  • Measure with length, angle, rectangle and ellipse tools; values are shown on the image.
  • Split the screen into 1×1, 1×2, 2×2 and other layouts to compare series or compare with a prior.

Measurements and annotations you make are a working aid in your session. Treat the DICOM data as the record of truth, and export anything you must keep.

Clinical use

Check that MyPACS is approved for diagnostic reporting under the rules that apply to you before using it to make a diagnosis. Regulatory status varies by country and by intended use.

Working with the same studies as colleagues

All users in your environment share one study list — upload once and every colleague sees it, without copying, exporting, or sending anything. Two people can open the same study at the same time.

Slow loading?

Large series load progressively over your internet connection. If it drags, see Troubleshooting.
